The MS-ROC (Multi-Shot Row Optical AutoCorrelator) enables pulse width measurement using second order scanning autocorrelation. It is based on a Michelson interferometer and second harmonic generation (SHG autocorrelation). Different models allow pulse duration analysis down to 3 fs for ultrashort pulses and 80 ps for long pulses, even for low pulse energies in the pJ and nJ range. High scan speeds of up to 130ps/s are ideal for real-time measurements.

The Radio and Optical Communications Lab at Dublin City University acquired the MS-ROC autocorrelator to characterize optical frequency combs from 10 to 100 GHz for applications ranging from data center interconnects to THz generation. Its alignment-free operation achieved through a fibre coupled input to the autocorrelator significantly reduces the time to take our measurements compared to older autocorrelators.
The MS-ROC has a clear design and is easy to align and measure the pulse width of the beam. The information is saved in convenient formats for further analysis. The STAR software has a clean and customizable interface, yet is packed with features. We appreciate how FemtoEasy has implemented our suggestions for improving the software. We look forward to using this equipment for characterizing and monitoring our broad range output OPA and SHG beamlines as we build and use our pump-probe laser system for photoemission orbital cinematography.
